KANABEC COUNTY JAIL
MORA, MN

Home : Projects : Jails : Kanabec Co.

The Kanabec County Jail includes laundry service, food service, inmate programs, medical services, a dispatch center, and jail administration offices. A 330' tunnel linking the new jail to the existing courthouse enables secure and discreet transfer of inmates between the two buildings. The project incorporates a combined dispatch emergency/911 and jail central control function to increase staffing efficiencies for the County and employs the newest security technology. The jail consists of 100 beds, with 9 segregation units capable of handling a large diversity of inmates. There is a shelled space for another 28 cells or 56 inmates which would become a direct supervised pod.

The building also has a shelled space that is flexible for future expansion of the general offices, the secure jail support operations, or a combination of the two.
