The Kanabec County Jail includes laundry service, food service, inmate programs, medical services, and jail administration offices. A 330' tunnel linking the
new jail to the existing courthouse enables secure and discreet transfers of inmates between the two buildings. This connection, and its close proximity to the existing courts building,
created the campus government center the County desired. Most of the County’s government agencies are all located within the campus setting.
The precast concrete for the exterior walls of the jail had a custom design mix which relates it to the 19th century courthouse, and ties the color and texture of the campus together.
