Klein McCarthy Architects has worked with Douglas County to master plan their current downtown site. Also explored in the overall master plan was the
option of a remote Jail and City/County Law Enforcement Center.
The master plan for the new Jail and City/County Law Enforcement Center utilizes the County's existing Public Works Facility. The jail administration offices will occupy the
remodeled Public Works offices. The Jail is attached to the offices with potential for future expansion to the north. The City/County Law Enforcement Center is located
on the east side of the campus overlooking the lake.
The downtown site includes plans to remodel the existing jail to provide for courts staging and support, demolition of an old school swimming pool and the current
City/County LEC. Plans include the development of required parking and incorporation of additional green space.
