Ramsey County Juvenile Service Center brings together in a single downtown location the diverse services which impact the
juvenile offender: pretrial detention, juvenile court, court services and community diversion resources. The goal of this centralized facility
is to provide around-the-clock, expeditious handling of juvenile cases which are often beyond the capability of neighborhood services.
The project utilizes an existing 50-year old warehouse structure, which was extensively remodeled to provide office
space, courtrooms and recreational facilities in four levels. A new three-story addition to the north provides detention space for 30
youths, outdoor recreation, ancillary services, and an enclosed parking garage. Construction was accomplished within the project
budget of 3.7 million dollars.
